Jack Patrick, RA
Architectural Studio Manager
Mr. Patrick is a registered architect with more than forty-three years experience in facility programming and design; urban design and master planning; landscape design; facilities best financial practices reviews; and teaching and administration. He joins Vision Design Group, Inc. following a successful practice in Toledo where he designed several new schools and sites, as well as consulting on housing and community development in Detroit, MI and on K-12 and university projects throughout the United States.
Mr. Patrick has served in both private- and public- sector capacities in the northeast and is acutely aware of the expectations of public- and private- sector clients and the role the design professional plays in satisfying those needs. His project portfolio includes rapid transit and multi-nodal facilities; K-12 and university buildings; historic preservation and cultural resource planning for public buildings and neighborhoods; medium-density sustainable urban housing; program managment for a K-12 school district; and facilities best practicies reviews for K-12 school districts in Florida, Texas, Tennessee and Deleware.
During his private practice he has recieved several design awards most notably 1st Place in the Auburn Avenue International Streetscape Competition (1990) which was built for the Olympic Games in Atlanta, GA in 1992. His research and use of LEED strategic planning principals began in the early 1980s while teaching at MIT and later in research as part of his master's thesis on "Microclimate Designs for Temperate Climates", 1984-85.
